Bladder Cancer Awareness Day Events Across the Country

Last Saturday there were approximately 20 events across the country to raise bladder cancer awareness as part of the first national Bladder Cancer Awareness Day. Events happened in cities like New York City and Cleveland, OH. Bladder cancer is one cancer that doesn't garner a lot of media attention. Hopefully that will begin to change. Thanks to the efforts of  Florida Congressman Tom Rooney,  July 17th has been designated National Bladder Cancer Awareness Day. The American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association released research this week about the links between diabetes and cancer. Essentially, the report states that Type 2 diabetes may increase a person’s risk of getting cancer.
