Douglas S. Scherr, MD: Robotic Surgery
A diagnosis of cancer is a life altering event. The anxiety and fear that comes with your diagnosis can be overwhelming. Support comes in so many ways. Your family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances can all offer you their compassion and advice. This will surely work to alleviate much of your anxiety. Nothing, however, will take away your fear more than knowing you are receiving state of the art care as the most important element in your treatment. Whether you are diagnosed with a malignancy of the prostate, bladder, kidney or testicle, there are many technological medical challenges ahead that can only be met by a physician with exclusive expertise in urologic oncology.
Dr. Scherr was the first physician at Cornell to perform a robotic prostatectomy and he has since performed hundreds of these procedures.
